Posted June 5, 20241 yr Any idea where i can find the new APNs for Applications for Workspace One (on-prem)?
June 14, 20241 yr There is an official APNs for Application certificate renewal KB article 👉 https://kb.omnissa.com/s/article/50121242. Be prepared for the upcoming change to the APNs for Application certificate renewal 👉 https://kb.omnissa.com/s/article/91116
April 17Apr 17 Employee You should be able to download it from the following link - https://customerconnect.omnissa.com/downloads/details?downloadGroup=WS1-UEM-SS&productId=1589&rPId=118923. It's the first file there called "APNS Script". Please note that you will need to be logged in to the Customer Connect portal in order to be able to download.
April 17Apr 17 Community Expert Hi @CloudyDay, I’ve already migrated APNs for Applications to Cloud Notification Service (CNS) for my clients. You can refer to the official documentation for more details on the configuration: 🔗 https://docs.omnissa.com/bundle/SystemSettingsV2310/page/AppleiOSAPNsforApplicationsSettings.html
April 27Apr 27 Hi @Simon Frankiewicz We have already migrated APNs for application to CNS. But as per the Omnissa Support, we still have to run the APNs renewal script. Do you have a different opinion on this?
April 29Apr 29 Employee @salmanrehani I would suggest following our support team's guidance as they do this often with various customers.
April 29Apr 29 Community Expert Hi @salmanrehani, I can confirm that I’ve also migrated the APNs for Applications entries to Cloud Notification Service (CNS) for several clients. I haven’t renewed the APNs for Applications certificate separately. However, based on what I see, support is recommending replacing it, most likely due to the upcoming transition of FQDNs from VMware domains to new Omnissa-related ones. In my opinion, it’s worth doing both – migrating to CNS and updating the FQDNs in the console – especially since notifications might still work even without updating the FQDNs, which could be misleading. As for support – experiences have varied over time, so everyone should assess the situation individually and choose whether to go with option 1, option 2, or both.
April 30Apr 30 @Saurabh Jhunjhunwala @Simon Frankiewicz Thank you both for your updates. What I meant by "we still have to run the APNs renewal script" is that we are still required to execute the script every year to keep the APNs certificate from expiring. I initially thought that migrating to CNS meant the APNs certificate would no longer be necessary, and therefore the annual renewal process would be eliminated — but apparently, that’s not the case.
