Posted August 8, 2024Aug 8 Hello, Due to changes made by Google, from July of this year onwards, it is recommended to use a Microsoft Entra account when configuring Android EMM with Microsoft Intune. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/enrollment/connect-intune-android-enterprise Quote Beginning July 2024, we recommend using your Microsoft Entra account to connect to Google Play. Though the Omnissa Workspace ONE documentation says to enter a Gmail account, has anyone successfully configured Android EMM with Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM using a Microsoft Entra account? https://docs.omnissa.com/bundle/android-device-management/page/AndroidRegistrationRegisterAndroidwithWorkspaceONE.html#register_with_a_managed_google_play_accounts_enterprise Quote Where prompted to enter your work email address, provide the GMail account that should manage the Managed Google Play Accounts Enterprise. Regards

August 14, 2024Aug 14 Pros and cons using an Entra account for this. Seems easy to connect and gives us more control over the account. Feels like a little lock in to Microsoft though. If you do make sure you use Entra as long as you need the Android Enterprise integration. I think I will continue to recommend creating a Google account and use an existing company email account for receiving emails (password recovery etc).Â
August 15, 2024Aug 15 Community Expert Employee Google was closing down Google accounts that did not log into mail regularly. Some of the accounts I used to set up EMM where also affected, but there is a process to get them reenabled by Google and that worked without issues.
