I’m attempting to deploy a custom wallpaper to multiple Samsung Galaxy Active Tab 5 devices using Workspace ONE. I’ve created a custom profile with an XML payload that includes a link to the wallpaper hosted on Google Drive. Despite ensuring the file is publicly accessible and converting the Google Drive link to a direct download URL, the wallpaper deployment isn’t working. I’ve also tried alternative hosting methods like Dropbox but still haven’t succeeded.

I’m looking for guidance on the following:

  1. Best practices for hosting images that need to be deployed as wallpapers via Workspace ONE.
  2. Alternative solutions or specific XML configurations that have worked for others.
  3. Any known issues or limitations related to using Google Drive or Dropbox links in Workspace ONE for this purpose.
  4. Recommendations on troubleshooting and ensuring the deployment works consistently across all devices.

I found this Online, but it was not working for me

*Please do not suggest the deployment of the Launcher

Thank you

Thanks, Mathieu. It seems that many of the customizations we want can only be done with Knox Configure. However, this is a premium feature that requires a premium license.

Correct, Knox Configure requires a license. If it is just for wallpaper then it would be hard to justify the cost. But there is so much more you can do with it that might be worth the investment.

@aliabhatt this is correct when you just want to deploy wallpaper using Launcher, but we are missing configuration to deploy wallpaper to Android devices in general where no Launcher is used.

Take a look at the Knox Service Plugin. OEMConfig for Samsung.

The Enterprise Premium license is free, you generate that in your Samsung Knox Dashboard. You will need a Samsung Knox registration for this, but I guess you are already using KME so that will be the same account.

This is only for customisation for the lockscreen, not actual setting wallpaper.
