Bendik Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Hi Recently our Debian based VDIs stopped working, that is, when trying to login, it hangs for a while before the VMs are deleted. I turns out the reason is that the horizon agent requires the package libdbus-glib-1-2 to be installed, and recently Firefox stopped depending on this package as it is deprecated. So it used to work only because Firefox depended on the package. The horizon agent installer has some tests for required tools, e.g. installerlib.sh:common_command_check, which ensures common tools like which and hexdump are installed. However, the dependency on the libdbus-glib-1-2 package is not tested at install time. The result of the missing package is failure to log into the VDI, however, the the VDIs seem healthy in horizon view before the VMs are deleted. Looking at the docs, the list of mandatory packages is severely lacking: https://docs.omnissa.com/bundle/Desktops-and-Applications-in-HorizonV2406/page/InstallLinuxDependencyPackagesforHorizonAgent.html You need to take this seriously, and update the docs. This is not good at all.
Yanchao张 Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Thank you Bendik for posting this, very appreciated! We're working on this and the solution supposed to be ready soon.
