I've been using Horizon Client 2209 on my personal computer. I'm on Linux Mint 21.3 Kernel 6.8.0-48-generic (Ubuntu 22.04.3). My employer requires that I upgrade to 2406 but I'm experiencing an issue with the desktop. I can see the desktop instance but it instantly closes whenever I launch it.

This is happening with versions after 2209. I tried with 2306, 2309, 2309.1, 2312, 2406. The only stable version on my machine is 2209. I attempted clean installs before updating.

I generated the logs but I'm unable to determine what the issue is.

I have an older machine.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600
    GPU: GeForce GTX 660

My employer isn't able to offer support. I reported it several times but the technicians don't have a solution to offer.

I'd appreciate any help.

Maybe your employer and the technicians aren't able to deliver support because of the following...

The documentation for Horizon Client v2406 mentions it supports:

  • Ubuntu x64 20.04, 22.04, and 24.04

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.10 and 9.4

Not sure if Linux flavors based on Ubuntu, like Mint, are also supported.

I know this doesn't solve your question, but the first step is to test on a supported operating system, imho...
