As we rapidly move to the new teams we noticed that the recommended shortcut for new teams in appdata is not working cause the directory is empty in our vdi environment. A co-worker stumbled upon a redit post and we tested it

Target: C:\Windows\explorer.exe

Arguments: shell:AppsFolder\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MSTeams

shortcut unknown yet...

We also struggled with consistency of the Start Menu shortcut being generated for our end users during migration from Classic to New Teams in our Non-Persistent VDI environment. Ultimately, we decided to just create a .ico file and create a File/Folder task in DEM to copy the .ico into the profile and then have DEM create a Start Menu. There was no other good way for us to do this and this was the solution we quickly came up to solve it. It's not pretty or efficient but it worked for us.

It created an additional shortcut in the Start Menu for some users but that was better than Microsoft's inconsistency that we saw where some people would not have one at all... Oh well.
