Posted February 4Feb 4 Looking for some definitive answer as I have seen so many opinions, so I feel a little overwhelmed with all the info. I am attempting to upgrade our Horizon environment to Windows 11 23H2 instant clones. I would like to have a standard start menu rolled out across the company. This includes a standard 'pinned', 'recommended' and 'all apps' menu. Is this possible on Windows 11? If so, how does one achieve this? The start menu could also change based on certain shortcuts being applied to the user based on certain conditions like their AD group membership or VDI location. Eg, UK users will receive the UK intranet shortcut, Singapore users receive the Singapore intranet shortcut. All this we do fine on Windows 10, but how do we achieve this with Windows 11? Any help is much appreciated.
February 10Feb 10 Windows 11 start menu is way different than windows 10. It's based on a json file rather than xml. I've yet to find an easy config tool for it, just good old coding.
February 11Feb 11 Employee These might be of some help: Windows 11 - Start Menu - Windows 11 - Taskbar (2/3) - I'm sure you already reviewed these but here are the MSFT specific docs I found: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/customize/desktop/customize-the-windows-11-start-menu https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/start/layout?tabs=intune-10%2Cintune-11&pivots=windows-11
