Why should you care?

A well-structured menu makes it easy for users to find what they need, reducing frustration and increasing engagement. Think about it: the smoother the navigation, the happier the user!  💃

Chaining Horizon Server API Calls to automate Horizon tasks!

No REST for The RESTful: Chaining Together Calls To The Horizon Server API

Linked to Omnissa's resident @Justin Johnson's Blog site evengooder > his blog post reviews how to chain together Horizon Server API calls to automate Horizon tasks.  Using Postman collections can be configured for sequences of calls that build upon each other, passing variables from request to request.  More specifically, there's JavaScript wrapped around each request through (further linked details: pre-request and post-requests scripts) that share variables across the collection.

In Case you Missed It:  Workspace ONE UEM Supports Declarative Device Management for iOS and iPadOS.  See our blog post on this topic HERE.

"Omnissa Workspace ONE® UEM now supports declarative device management (DDM) for iOS and iPadOS with the release of v2406! This phase of our declaration functionality allows Workspace ONE admins to deploy declarative configurations and assets to managed devices and implement the software update enforcement capability included in DDM. We have also introduced the declarative status channel so Workspace ONE can collect — and display — install status on any deployed declarations."

Note: DDM functionality requires Workspace ONE modern architecture. To learn more about modern architecture, please see this Tech Zone article: Workspace ONE UEM Modernization Wave 1.

There’s still time to join our Intel Chip-to-Cloud public beta. If you haven’t already participated in Workspace ONE or Horizon beta projects, you can visit the beta portal (https://beta.omnissa.com/enter/) to sign up and try the Chip-to-Cloud integration along with many other projects.

Plenty of content has been shared about how Workspace ONE and Horizon can help in critical situations – some popular topics include using self-service BitLocker key retrieval, determining impacted devices, mitigating outages with Horizon.

The Intel Chip-to-Cloud integration is another valuable capability when facing these types of challenges. It provides out of band management controls directly from the Workspace ONE UEM console…something that can be extremely useful in blue screen of death (BSOD) situations like we saw in July. When an impacted endpoint with restricted physical access needs a reboot, admins can remotely support with power controls. For more complex needs, full keyboard, video, mouse access is supported to access BIOS and recovery mode – functional OS not needed. There is no additional infrastructure or software needed to support these actions because we have enabled cloud-native integration between the Intel Endpoint Cloud Services and the Workspace ONE UEM platform.

Hello Omnissa community,

We keep coming to you with exciting updates and announcements. Today, we are letting you know that starting in September 2024, we will begin to bring you live webinars on this Omnissa Community forum! (who's excited?? WE ARE! 👏)

These sessions will not be structured on a set monthly cadence but more ad hoc webinars to ensure we are bringing you fresh information. The idea is to drive educational insights on our products & have deeper technical discussions with the internal Omnissa subject matter experts. This will create a space where you can connect with our team live, ask questions, and offer use case feedback where it lends value to the conversation.

The endeavor is to have these sessions strongly attended and interactive. 🎤We will do our utmost to get your questions addressed during these sessions by having a speaker team on hand ready to address your questions live and in the IM window. Please note: These calls will NOT have any NDA or embargo'ed content discussed or shared. This will be public facing information only with a technically focused dialog.

To make sure you don't miss out on these opportunities, please follow the next steps:

Go to the Events tab near the top of the page

Select the Subscribe button and subscribe to the iCaledar feed

Not only will these sessions be on our public facing customer community calendar, but the speaker will share a post in the product forum section related to the topic! Keep your eyes out for these posts.

We have @Jo Harder to thank for our first kick off session on the topic, Windows Baseline and Profiles!

As we mature this Tech Talk series engagement offering, we want to know what is top of mind for you! Please share topics you want to learn more about in the comments below. We can't promise we will get to every single topic requested, but we will do our best and your input will allow us to keep a pulse of what content is important to you!

In appreciation to all of our community participants,

Your Omnissa community team | Holly, Jenn and Radina

The community team is thrilled to welcome everyone into our new forums! As we get started there are so many features and settings for you to take advantage of and make your forum experience great.  This post will go over a handful of the most helpful features to start using, and our team will share more tips & tricks here in the forum resources section as time goes on.

Posting

When you want to create a post on the forums you can either use the +Create button at the top of the screen and select the correct sub forum from the drop down list, or you can go into the sub forum you wish to post in and use the Start new topic button there.

You will notice that some of the sections do not allow topics to be posted. These are categories that hold more specific sub forums, so if you go one level deeper you should be able to post just fine!

Tagging & marking solutions

When you post, be sure to tag your content. This will help us ensure content is in the correct subforums, make our search results better, and make it easy for other users to find your content. This is a great way to assist others who might have the same question as you, or who are searching the site and might find the insights that you are sharing helpful.

If you aren't sure what tag to use or how to spell it, just start typing. Our list of predefined tags will pop up and you can choose from them, or create your own.

If you ask a question and someone answers it in a way that resolves your issue, please feel free to mark the response as the solution. This helps other users who are looking at your post quickly find the correct answer!

Interacting & engaging with others

We encourage you to get involved in this community space, and engage with other users here. There are many ways you can do that, such as reacting to posts and replying with comments of your own!
