Profile-based User Enrollment is no longer supported in iOS and iPadOS 18?

Hello,

I'm reading the release notes for iOS 18 on the Apple Seed web page and found this

Profile-based User Enrollment is no longer supported in iOS and iPadOS 18. For User
Enrollment, sign in with a Managed Apple Account in Settings.

Anyone that knows what that means and what impact it will have?
We are using web enrollment and ADE enrollment in our organisation.

So, ADE is not affected by this 🙂

You can enroll Apple devices with either Device Enrollment or User Enrollment. And both works (for now) for Account-Driven or Profile-Drive. That leaves us with ADDE, ADUE, PDDE and PDUE 🙂

The old "normal" way of doing enrollment is "Device Enrollment" so most likely you're not affected 🙂

If users go to https://dsxxxxx.awmdm.com/enroll or enroll through Hub app, then you're using Profile-Driven Device Enrollment (PDDE - Not affected).

If your users go to Settings, VPN & Device Management and login, then they are using ADUE (not affected).

If your users go to https://dsxxxxx.awmdm.com/enroll/user/ you're using PDUE (Affected)

I hope this answers your question 🙂
