That seems to work the same as windows client except the linux com device source would be something like '/dev/ttyUSB0' . I think the 9600 baud limit is still a thing. If your having issues knock the speed down. Its been a few years and may be conflating issue, but i seem to recall an issue with USB 3.1 you can try another port.
