Noordan
Hello, I'm reading the release notes for iOS 18 on the Apple Seed web page and found this Profile-based User Enrollment is no longer supported in iOS and iPadOS 18. For User Enrollment, sign in with a Managed Apple Account in Settings. Anyone that knows what that means and what impact it will have? We are using web enrollment and ADE enrollment in our organisation. BR
Peter Mohr
So, ADE is not affected by this 🙂 You can enroll Apple devices with either Device Enrollment or User Enrollment. And both works (for now) for Account-Driven or Profile-Drive. That leaves us with ADDE, ADUE, PDDE and PDUE 🙂 The old "normal" way of doing enrollment is "Device Enrollment" so most likely you're not affected 🙂 If users go to https://dsxxxxx.awmdm.com/enroll or enroll through Hub app, then you're using Profile-Driven Device Enrollment (PDDE - Not affected). If your users go to Settings, VPN & Device Management and login, then they are using ADUE (not affected). If your users go to https://dsxxxxx.awmdm.com/enroll/user/ you're using PDUE (Affected) I hope this answers your question 🙂 1
Noordan
Thank you @Peter Mohr for your detailed explanation. That explains why I can enroll via /enroll with iOS 18 beta. 🙂 Edited August 7 by Noordan
Moni_26
Good morning everyone, so this means that we can't set up our devices through profile download and installation anymore? Is that correct? We already tried setting up our personal new iOS 18 (iPhone 16 pro max) devices the usual way which means downloading the profile from our UEM enrollment page and installing it through the settings of our device. The download works fine but the profile can't be found in the settings anymore. We're using this enrollment method for our personal devices to have access to our work mail account. Is there any other way to not add our own personal devices to our Apple Business Manager and/or have them fully managed in Workspace One? Employee Jason Misleh Posted September 23 Employee Share Posted September 23 @Moni_26 can you outline the process you are using? This change only affects PDUE (profile download user enrollment) workflows. are you enrolling via Intelligent Hub, Web, or Settings?
