Double lockscreen with winkey L

Recommended Posts

In our new environment we are noticing an issue when using winkey + L when locking the client computer. When we lock with this keyboard shortcut the shortcut is also send to the session on the client and it will lock the session as well. This results in the user having to unlock his client computer and their session which is a less then ideal user experience.

How can i make sure that this double lock does not happen, is there maybe a way to disable the passthrough of a specific keyboard shortcut?

What we tried:

  • I already tried workarounds like disabling the lock functionality via GPO which then results in another problem when disconnecting/reconnecting.
  • We tried using the disabledhotkeys registry entry but it does not work with our non-persistent setup.
  • Automatically synchronisch keyboard setting on the horizon view client is giving us mixed result.

So, are the users in their VDI session when pressing Win+L?  Or do they have the Horizon Client minimized?
